FinMango Community Update (11/1/2023) ðŸ¥
Everyone deserves to be financially healthy — especially young adults and vulnerable communities.
Hi All,Â
FinMango is on a mission to solve complex problems that endanger the financial health of young adults and vulnerable communities. FinMango is a non-profit that has impacted millions around the world since inception in 2017.
Highlights:
Partnered with Kent State University to implement a local competition with over $6,000 in prizes for students and schools in Northeast Ohio!
Published a peer-reviewed paper in the American Journal of Health Education!
Held a mango meetup in the Big Apple! ðŸ¥ðŸ—½ We visited the Edge NYC to take in some rainy but incredible views of New York - the perfect way to connect and catch up with our volunteers and ambassadors. Thank you to everyone who joined!
What’s going on? Â
We’re moving forward with the Migration Trend project. Currently working with a University of Virginia SEED Consulting team to break it down and mockup how the product will potentially look. The goal of the project is to provide essential data and insights for a range of financial decisions, risk management, and policy formulation.
We're collaborating with another UVA SEED team to analyze and compare the legal frameworks and social protections for migrant workers across key destination countries. This initiative is crucial for enhancing their financial health, ensuring income stability, safeguarding against exploitation and financial emergencies, and promoting long-term financial planning and security for migrant workers and their families.
Locally, our in-class program on mutual funds and Roth IRAs is fully booked for the 2023-2024 academic year, and we're excited to have already taught 2,000 students since early September!
Miscellaneous updates:
Based on community suggestions, the FinMango website has been continuously updated. Thank you for caring and for helping us to build!
